"Looking back at the songs I have written over the years, I came to realize that I had a collection of songs that portrayed my family and life here in Western Pennsylvania. My personal history was similar to that of countless others in this unique little corner of the world. My grandparents came over from Europe to work the coalmines. My parents grew up in the Great Depression and came of age during World War II. My world was shaped by the sixties and the music of that era that was so important to so many of us. We all lived through the collapse of the steel mills and the re-inventing of the city we love. Through it all, we grew up, raised families, and pursued our own individual dreams. Our lives all weave together like fabric in a cloth and I’ve got songs to sing and stories to tell." - Joe Grushecky
